20 Places You Should Visit in Your 20s (In My Humble Opinion)

Okay, let me just start off by saying — this list isn’t some official, research-heavy, perfectly ranked travel roundup. It’s simply my humble opinion based on my own experiences (and a few wish-list destinations I haven’t made it to yet). I’m writing this like I would if we were grabbing coffee or a glass of wine, and you asked me, “Where should I travel while I still have the energy, time, and semi-flexible schedule that your 20s give you?”

Some of these are party spots. Some are bucket list. Some are little culture bombs that help you grow in the best ways. But all of them? 100% worth it.

Here we go:

1. Las Vegas, Nevada

Why? Because if you’re 21+, it’s basically a playground. The clubs, the shows, the pool parties, the energy — it’s just wild. I feel like everyone needs one good Vegas trip in their 20s. Go, make memories (and maybe lose your voice), and then balance it out with a spa day before heading home.

2. New Orleans, Louisiana (for Mardi Gras)

Why? I haven’t been yet, but it’s on my radar in flashing neon lights. I mean, Mardi Gras? Costumes, parades, beads flying through the air — what’s not to love? Plus, the food and music scene in NOLA is legendary.

3. New York City, New York

Why? It’s iconic for a reason. The energy is unmatched, and there’s something powerful about just walking around there, especially when you’re young and hungry for life. NYC makes you feel like anything is possible.

4. Italy

Why? If you want to ease into international travel, I genuinely think Italy is perfect. Anywhere in Italy. There’s history, culture, pasta, wine, romance, gelato, and honestly — it’s hard not to fall in love with life when you’re sipping espresso on a cobblestone street somewhere in Florence or Rome.

5. Mykonos, Greece

Why? Nightlife. Beauty. Vibes. Mykonos is like a dream if you’re craving both a beachy escape and a party. The water is unreal, the sunsets are spiritual, and the nights? Well, let’s just say they turn into mornings real quick.

6. Amsterdam, Netherlands

Why? There’s just something about biking along canals and stumbling into adorable cafés. Amsterdam is cool without trying too hard. It’s also super walkable, chill, and gives you a unique taste of European life with a little edge.

7. France

Why? Yes, Paris is magical — but don’t sleep on the countryside or the south of France. France is where you go to feel fancy, eat cheese for dinner, and get a little cultured without even trying. But yes, Paris is always a good idea

8. Mexico

Why? Whether it’s Tulum, Mexico City, Cancun, or Cabo — Mexico is just so accessible and packed with personality. You get stunning beaches, amazing food, and rich traditions. Plus, it’s usually pretty budget-friendly, which matters in your 20s.

9. Miami, Florida

Why? If you want tropical-meets-party without leaving the U.S., Miami is your girl. The nightlife is insane, the beaches are stunning, and you’re going to eat so well. It’s flashy, it’s fun, and it’s full of energy.

10. Dublin, Ireland

Why? Guinness. Pubs. Accents. Friendly people. Rolling green hills. I love how down-to-earth and fun Ireland is, and Dublin is a great home base before road-tripping through the country. You’ll feel like you’re in a movie. We have a trip planned for this coming August!

11. Thailand

Why? I haven’t been (yet), but everyone I know who has says it changed them. It’s beautiful, spiritual, chaotic in the best way, and full of adventure. Plus, it’s crazy affordable once you get there — think beach bungalows and $3 pad thai.

12. Turkey

Why? Istanbul alone will blow your mind — it’s where East meets West, literally. Think mosques, markets, tea houses, and a cultural richness that you just have to experience for yourself. It’s underrated and unforgettable.

13. Portugal

Why? Another one I haven’t done yet, but I know it’s a top spot for a reason. Beaches, wine, friendly locals, tiled buildings, and a slower pace of life that hits just right. Lisbon and Porto are on my must-visit list.

14. Germany

Why? Berlin for the history and wild nightlife. Munich for the beer halls and Bavarian charm. Germany kind of has it all. It’s clean, efficient, beautiful, and surprisingly fun. Oktoberfest in your 20s? Say less.

15. London, England

Why? It’s the perfect “big city abroad” to visit. English-speaking, full of personality, and just the right mix of posh and punk. Museums, rooftop bars, history — you name it. And the pub culture? 10/10.

16. Los Angeles, California

Why? It’s everything you think it is — and maybe a little more. Beaches, hikes, celeb sightings, wellness culture, and insane food. It’s a vibe. Whether you love or hate it, LA leaves a mark.

17. Boston, Massachusetts

Why? It’s like a mini Europe within the U.S. Cobblestone streets, rich history, cute cafes, and a ton of charm. Boston feels like a cozy hug — especially in the fall. Bonus points if you’re a sucker for anything collegiate or historical.

18. Colombia

Why? Medellín and Cartagena are calling. Colombia is vibrant, diverse, and buzzing with life. The food, the music, the scenery — it’s a full-on sensory experience, and your 20s are the time to embrace that kind of adventure.

19. Vermont

Why? If you want cozy fall or ski trip vibes, Vermont is where it’s at. Picture yourself bundled in a sweater, drinking cider or hot chocolate, and hiking through the prettiest foliage you’ve ever seen or skiing through the snowiest evergreens. It’s also a great reset when life gets chaotic. The bars aren’t too bad either— Après Ski as they say!

20. The Grand Canyon, Arizona

Why? Because no matter how many photos you’ve seen, nothing prepares you for the real thing. It’s humbling, grounding, and just makes you go “whoa.” You don’t have to be a hardcore hiker to enjoy it, either — just being there is enough. Maybe I’m biased because I got engaged here but… nonetheless it’s a natural world wonder for a reason.

Final Thoughts:

If you’re reading this and feeling like you need to book a flight right now, I totally get it. Your 20s are such a weird, wild, wonderful decade — and most of these places all gave me something different. A new perspective, a new favorite dish, a new version of myself.

Travel is one of the best investments you can make in yourself. So don’t wait for the “perfect” time or perfect company. Sometimes the best trips are spontaneous, slightly chaotic, and totally unforgettable.

Let me know which ones you’ve been to (or which ones you’re adding to your bucket list) — I’d love to hear

Morning Routines That Set The Tone For A Romanticized Life

Mornings set the tone for your entire day. Instead of rushing through them, imagine crafting a routine that feels slow, intentional, and cinematic—one that makes you feel like the main character in your own story. A morning that isn’t just about productivity, but about savoring life.

Here’s how to romanticize your mornings even if you’re a busy person:

1. Wake Up Without Rushing

Allow yourself to wake up at an earlier time so there is no rushing around in the morning. How many times have you gotten up with minutes to spare until you have to be on your way to work or whatever it is you have planned for the day? Of course, this routine change requires an earlier bed time but starting your day off on the right foot will truly change your demeanor. Giving yourself time to get ready slowly might just be what you need.

2. Mindful Movement & Breathwork

Another option is to your day with meditation, yoga, or a few minutes of breathwork to ground yourself. This practice helps cultivate peace before the day even begins. Whether you decide to wake up extra early to get in that stretch or take just five minutes to do some meditation or breathwork- giving yourself some peace in the morning can allow you to see your intentions and move differently towards them throughout the day.

3. Enjoy a Slow & Intentional Get Ready Routine

Similar to stopping the rush, instead of frantically rushing to get ready, give yourself the gift of time and have fun with it. Play your favorite playlist, a favorite podcast/audiobook or a soft morning soundtrack, dance a little, and move through your skincare or makeup routine like a ritual. Maybe today, you put on a face or eye mask or treat yourself to LED red light therapy as you pick out your outfit dancing through the motions. Dancing is actually proven to increase serotonin so getting those hips shaking might be exactly what the doctor ordered for your morning routine.

4. A Walk in Nature

Speaking of scientifically proven studies, 20 minutes in nature can significantly lower cortisol levels (the stress hormone). So, even if it’s just a short walk around the block to let your dog out for potty, stepping outside, breathing in the fresh air, and feeling the sun on your skin, it makes a difference. If you have the time, head to a park or a nature trail.

5. Move Your Body

Sometimes all we need is a little sweat-sesh to start our morning off on the right foot so the rest of the day can be conquered. Whether it’s a Pilates class, strength training, or a spin class, movement wakes up your body and mind. The post-workout endorphins are an instant mood boost!

6. Journaling or Reading

Before diving into work, taking a few moments to write down your thoughts, gratitude, or dreams in a journal can slow us down and allow us time for reflection. Or, lose yourself in a few pages of a book while sipping your morning drink.

7. Creative Time

If you’re anything like me you likely have 100 hobbies without any time to do any of them. Using your morning to allow yourself the time to do one of your more creative hobbies can bring a sense of romanticizing to your morning. Dedicate 10-15 minutes to something creative—paint a little, write poetry, or just doodle in a sketchbook. Even small creative acts bring joy and inspiration into your morning.

8. A Thoughtfully Made Drink & Breakfast

Whether it’s a green juice, an iced oat milk latte, or a nourishing smoothie, savor your drink. If breakfast makes you happy, take the time to cook something you love—avocado toast, eggs with fresh herbs, or a yogurt bowl with fruit and honey.

9. A Ritual That Feels Luxurious to You

Something that could make life feel a little more romanticized is partaking in a luxurious activity. Maybe it’s putting on perfume just for yourself, lighting a candle while you journal, wearing an outfit that makes you feel your best, or leaving time to stop by your favorite coffee shop before work.

10. Watch The Sunrise

A free but great option is watching a sunrise if your schedule allows for it. Slowing down and watching the sunrise can give you a magical start to your day.

Want to take it to the next level? Here are a few small details that add to the magic:

– Listening to a curated morning playlist (soft jazz, indie folk, or dreamy film scores)

– Wearing a silky robe or cute loungewear as you sip your coffee

– Opening the windows and letting in fresh air while you stretch

– Writing handwritten notes to yourself or a loved one

– Lighting a candle or using a room spray to set a peaceful vibe

– Using beautiful dishware and glassware (because your morning wellness juice shot in a vintage coupe glass just hits differently)

– Taking a different scenic route if you walk to work or drive

– Carving out a quiet moment to speak affirmations to your reflection to boost your confidence

Your mornings don’t have to be perfect. They don’t have to be an Instagram-worthy aesthetic every day. But intentionally creating a routine that feels good to you—one that prioritizes slowness, mindfulness, and joy—will change the way you move through life.

So tomorrow morning, take a deep breath, put on your favorite song, and start your day like you’re living in your dream movie.

Wandering in London ― My thoughts about this lovely city

The first question of course was, how to get dry again: they had a consultation about this, and after a few minutes it seemed quite natural to Alice to find herself talking familiarly with them, as if she had known them all her life. Indeed, she had quite a long argument with the Lory, who at last turned sulky, and would only say, ‘I am older than you, and must know better’; and this Alice would not allow without knowing how old it was, and, as the Lory positively refused to tell its age, there was no more to be said.

At last the Mouse, who seemed to be a person of authority among them, called out, ‘Sit down, all of you, and listen to me! I’ll soon make you dry enough!’ They all sat down at once, in a large ring, with the Mouse in the middle. Alice kept her eyes anxiously fixed on it, for she felt sure she would catch a bad cold if she did not get dry very soon.

‘Ahem!’ said the Mouse with an important air, ‘are you all ready? This is the driest thing I know. Silence all round, if you please! “William the Conqueror, whose cause was favoured by the pope, was soon submitted to by the English, who wanted leaders, and had been of late much accustomed to usurpation and conquest. Edwin and Morcar, the earls of Mercia and Northumbria—“’

‘Ugh!’ said the Lory, with a shiver.‘I beg your pardon!’ said the Mouse, frowning, but very politely: ‘Did you speak?’‘Not I!’ said the Lory hastily.

‘I thought you did,’ said the Mouse. ‘—I proceed. “Edwin and Morcar, the earls of Mercia and Northumbria, declared for him: and even Stigand, the patriotic archbishop of Canterbury, found it advisable—“’

‘Found what?’ said the Duck.

‘Found it,’ the Mouse replied rather crossly: ‘of course you know what “it” means.’

‘I know what “it” means well enough, when I find a thing,’ said the Duck: ‘it’s generally a frog or a worm. The question is, what did the archbishop find?’

The Mouse did not notice this question, but hurriedly went on, ‘“—found it advisable to go with Edgar Atheling to meet William and offer him the crown. William’s conduct at first was moderate. But the insolence of his Normans—” How are you getting on now, my dear?’ it continued, turning to Alice as it spoke.

My 10 Favorite Fashion Items to Take Around the World with You

It was the White Rabbit, trotting slowly back again, and looking anxiously about as it went, as if it had lost something; and she heard it muttering to itself ‘The Duchess! The Duchess! Oh my dear paws! Oh my fur and whiskers! She’ll get me executed, as sure as ferrets are ferrets! Where can I have dropped them, I wonder?’ Alice guessed in a moment that it was looking for the fan and the pair of white kid gloves, and she very good-naturedly began hunting about for them, but they were nowhere to be seen—everything seemed to have changed since her swim in the pool, and the great hall, with the glass table and the little door, had vanished completely.

Very soon the Rabbit noticed Alice, as she went hunting about, and called out to her in an angry tone, ‘Why, Mary Ann, what are you doing out here? Run home this moment, and fetch me a pair of gloves and a fan! Quick, now!’ And Alice was so much frightened that she ran off at once in the direction it pointed to, without trying to explain the mistake it had made.

‘He took me for his housemaid,’ she said to herself as she ran. ‘How surprised he’ll be when he finds out who I am! But I’d better take him his fan and gloves—that is, if I can find them.’ As she said this, she came upon a neat little house, on the door of which was a bright brass plate with the name ‘W. RABBIT’ engraved upon it. She went in without knocking, and hurried upstairs, in great fear lest she should meet the real Mary Ann, and be turned out of the house before she had found the fan and gloves.

‘How queer it seems,’ Alice said to herself, ‘to be going messages for a rabbit! I suppose Dinah’ll be sending me on messages next!’ And she began fancying the sort of thing that would happen: ‘“Miss Alice! Come here directly, and get ready for your walk!” “Coming in a minute, nurse! But I’ve got to see that the mouse doesn’t get out.” Only I don’t think,’ Alice went on, ‘that they’d let Dinah stop in the house if it began ordering people about like that!’

‘Curiouser and curiouser!’ cried Alice (she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot how to speak good English); ‘now I’m opening out like the largest telescope that ever was! Good-bye, feet!’ (for when she looked down at her feet, they seemed to be almost out of sight, they were getting so far off). ‘Oh, my poor little feet, I wonder who will put on your shoes and stockings for you now, dears? I’m sure I shan’t be able! I shall be a great deal too far off to trouble myself about you: you must manage the best way you can;—but I must be kind to them,’ thought Alice, ‘or perhaps they won’t walk the way I want to go! Let me see: I’ll give them a new pair of boots every Christmas.’
And she went on planning to herself how she would manage it. ‘They must go by the carrier,’ she thought; ‘and how funny it’ll seem, sending presents to one’s own feet! And how odd the directions will look!

Alice’s Right Foot, Esq.
Hearthrug,
near The Fender,
(with Alice’s love).

Oh dear, what nonsense I’m talking!’

Just then her head struck against the roof of the hall: in fact she was now more than nine feet high, and she at once took up the little golden key and hurried off to the garden door.

Poor Alice! It was as much as she could do, lying down on one side, to look through into the garden with one eye; but to get through was more hopeless than ever: she sat down and began to cry again.

‘You ought to be ashamed of yourself,’ said Alice, ‘a great girl like you,’ (she might well say this), ‘to go on crying in this way! Stop this moment, I tell you!’ But she went on all the same, shedding gallons of tears, until there was a large pool all round her, about four inches deep and reaching half down the hall.

After a time she heard a little pattering of feet in the distance, and she hastily dried her eyes to see what was coming. It was the White Rabbit returning, splendidly dressed, with a pair of white kid gloves in one hand and a large fan in the other: he came trotting along in a great hurry, muttering to himself as he came, ‘Oh! the Duchess, the Duchess! Oh! won’t she be savage if I’ve kept her waiting!’ Alice felt so desperate that she was ready to ask help of any one; so, when the Rabbit came near her, she began, in a low, timid voice, ‘If you please, sir—’ The Rabbit started violently, dropped the white kid gloves and the fan, and skurried away into the darkness as hard as he could go.

Best Cafés in Paris ― Where to go for the perfect cup of coffee

Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, ‘and what is the use of a book,’ thought Alice ‘without pictures or conversations?’

So she was considering in her own mind (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid), whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her.

There was nothing so very remarkable in that; nor did Alice think it so very much out of the way to hear the Rabbit say to itself, ‘Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be late!’ (when she thought it over afterwards, it occurred to her that she ought to have wondered at this, but at the time it all seemed quite natural); but when the Rabbit actually took a watch out of its waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it, and then hurried on, Alice started to her feet, for it flashed across her mind that she had never before seen a rabbit with either a waistcoat-pocket, or a watch to take out of it, and burning with curiosity, she ran across the field after it, and fortunately was just in time to see it pop down a large rabbit-hole under the hedge.

In another moment down went Alice after it, never once considering how in the world she was to get out again.
The rabbit-hole went straight on like a tunnel for some way, and then dipped suddenly down, so suddenly that Alice had not a moment to think about stopping herself before she found herself falling down a very deep well.

Either the well was very deep, or she fell very slowly, for she had plenty of time as she went down to look about her and to wonder what was going to happen next. First, she tried to look down and make out what she was coming to, but it was too dark to see anything; then she looked at the sides of the well, and noticed that they were filled with cupboards and book-shelves; here and there she saw maps and pictures hung upon pegs. She took down a jar from one of the shelves as she passed; it was labelled ‘ORANGE MARMALADE’, but to her great disappointment it was empty: she did not like to drop the jar for fear of killing somebody, so managed to put it into one of the cupboards as she fell past it.
